Start of Your Desert Trip
Your journey begins with a pickup from your Riad, hotel, or the airport in Marrakesh. After a 1.5-hour drive, you’ll reach the stunning High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, the driver will make stops for coffee or tea, and you’ll have opportunities to capture the beauty of the natural landscapes and traditional Berber villages.
You’ll traverse the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters before descending into the picturesque Ounila Valley, home to the historic Kasbah of Telouet (also known as the Glaoui Palace).
Lunch will be served in the charming village of Ait Ben Haddou, where you’ll visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989. If time permits, you may also explore the renowned Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate.
After about an hour’s drive from Ouarzazate, you’ll arrive in Agdez, known as the “capital of dates,” where your accommodation for the night awaits.
