نظرة عامة على الرحلة
This is one way to avoid the crowds while you venture into the Manaslu region in the Gorkha district of Nepal that sits right on the border with Tibet. Manaslu is the 8th highest peak in the world. This region has only recently been open to tourism and offers a firsthand experience of incredible natural beauty, as well as exposure to the Hindu, and Tibetan Buddhist culture. The trek is a feast for the eyes as you gaze upward to many soaring Himalayan peaks, including Himal Chuli (7893m), Ngadi Chuli (7871m), Shringi Himal (7187m), Langpo (6965m), Saula (6235m), and of course the iconic peak of Manaslu (8163m/26,781 ft). Manaslu in Sanskrit means "Mountain of the spirit”, derived from the word Manasa, meaning “intellect” or “soul”.
Your trek begins at Soti Khola and ends at Dharapani with the trail weaving its way through the Budhi Gandaki Valley, and across numerous rivers, to the Pungen Glacier and to the ancient Tibetan settlement at Lho. A visit to Gorkha is a revelation, being the ancient kingdom of the Shah Dynasty with a blend of Buddhist and Hindu cultures. This trek has so much to offer when it comes to natural beauty, including alpine glaciers, waterfalls and incredible flora and fauna. The highest point on the trek is Larkya La Pass (5106m) situated close to the Tibetan border. The rhododendron forests are mostly colorful during spring, with their vivid white, pink and red blossoms. A highlight of this trek is the chance to observe the remote everyday life of the villagers in these mountains.
Many people consider this as one of the best treks in Nepal, due to its remoteness and it being less crowded.
You can also add to this trek with a side trip to the isolated Tsum Valley, where time has stood-still and century-old Tibetan traditions still survive. Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will organize everything for you and make this a hassle free experience and chance to trek into this less explored area. We will take care of all permits and logistics, including accommodation and all meals along the trail.
