2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT – TRIP FROM OUARZAZATE TO ERG CHEGAGA DESERT
Sahara Holiday has chosen this 2-day tour for you, which starts from Ouarzazate via Erg Chegaga dunes, through which you are going to discover Morocco’s highlights, which attract thousands of tourists from all over the world, and locals too.
Ouarzazate desert tours-Erg Chegaga allows you to see southern Morocco’s sceneries such as the Anti Atlas mountains, admire great views over Morocco’s largest valley (Draa Valley), and absorb the atmosphere of the desert, while riding a camel through the Erg Chegaga dunes, and watch a memorable sunset or sunrise on one of its highest sand hills.

Departure from your hotel, and head South towards Agdez, we will mostly drive along the Anti Atlas Mountains, reaching the highest pass(1660 m), then drive downhill to join the city of AGDZ, from which we drive on the left banks, following the valley(Draa valley), through the ancient caravan route.
We will pause at the village of Tamnougalte: visit and have a glass of mint tea, and continue crossing the other villages stretching along the way, after that, we will join the normal road which takes us to the town of Zagora (called: the gate to the desert), where we will be rewarded with one of the prettiest towns in Southern Morocco. Full of bright cerise bougainvilleas, pink oleander bushes, and palm trees.
Continue our drive until we arrive to Tamgroute, where you will be guided, and exploring the area, by visiting the library, under ground passage, and the place where they make traditional pottery.
After visit, we will head to the deep desert, we pause for at break at Mhamid village, and have lunch in one of its great guest houses, here in M’hamid the paved road is ended, and we will drive for another (60km), through a sandy and stony track, which leads us to the Erg chegaga sand dunes.
Once you’re there, you’ll be greeted by a glace of tea, put your luggage inside your tent, and then go for a ride on the camel, to watch the most beautiful sunset on one of the highest sand dunes. Overnight in a confortable tent.
After dinner, you will be invited around a campfire,enjoying a silence of the desert, relaxing, stargazing, while the nomads playing on their drums.
