Arrival in Lima, assistance, and transfer to the hotel.
An exclusive tour of Lima’s Historical Center will allow us to admire the architectural relics that form part of old Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey begins at the Convent of Santo Domingo, built during the city’s foundation. The Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, the oldest university in the Americas, houses a choir with the oldest stalls in the country and a library with 25,000 books, some printed in the 15th century. The mortal remains of San Martín de Porres, San Juan Masías, and Santa Rosa de Lima are also here.
Crossing Plaza Mayor, we visit the Government Palace, the Municipality, and the Cathedral, home to colonial artworks reflecting Lima’s rich history.
Later, we head to the Larco Museum to explore the cultures of ancient Peru, admiring gold pieces, textiles, and erotic ceramics, as well as expressions of art preserved in the museum warehouse.
