- Individual arrival in Hobart and pick-up of the separately booked rental car. The capital of Tasmania offers a fascinating mix of nature, history and culture. Drive up to Mount Wellington, for example, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city and the surrounding countryside. Stroll through Battery Point, Hobart's oldest neighborhood with its narrow streets and well-preserved Georgian and Victorian buildings, or along Salamanca Place, a historic waterfront promenade consisting of a series of 19th-century sandstone buildings that now house galleries, boutiques, cafés and restaurants.
